World Wildlife Fund - is the world's largest and most experienced independent conservation organisation working in 90 countries. It is a charity with over 5 million supporters.

Greenpeace - is a campaigning organisation that stands for positive change through action. Their ship is called the Rainbow Warrior and is named after a Native American legend.

There will come a time when the Earth grows sick and when it does a tribe will gather from all the cultures of the World who believe in deed and not words. They will work to heal it...they will be known as the Warriors of the Rainbow.

Metro is also trying to do its bit for the environment. We look at the ways we build new facilities, pay for bus and rail services, and how our staff travel around.

We’ve set targets to reduce our environmental impact, including cutting down on paper waste, energy, water and fuel. We are also looking at renewable energy such as wind and solar power to light bus shelters.
