Pigeon Detectives release second album, Emergency

Emergency is the second album from Leeds band, The Pigeon Detectives. The album was released May 26, 2008, just under a year after their platinum selling debut album Wait For Me. The first track to be released as a single from the album was This Is An Emergency.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie to divorce

The rumor that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were divorcing has been making the rounds for months, but the latest news is that in fact Madonna has hired Paul McCartney's lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, and Guy has hired a divorce attorney as well. It's looking like the driver rumors are no myth! A source says that the pair have "huge assets", with Madonna's fortune alone estimated at £380 million. Ritchie still hopes to save the marriage, "but he'll have a tough time persuading Madonna", claim pals of the couple.

Agyness Deyn wishes to join with Spice Girls and Lily Allen

Supermodel Agyness Deyn has expressed her desire to collaborate with the Spice Girls and Lily Allen, saying that she thought the partnership would create the perfect Model Supergroup.

In an interview with ITV, she said: “I would like to do something like the Spice Girls – it could be really fun. We could get Lily to be in there, as she doesn’t take herself too seriously." She then later added she'd maybe like Alexa Chung to join too because she's "also up for a laugh".

Agyness made her musical debut last month when she teamed with Five O'Clock Heroes for their single 'Who'.

Kylie Minogue collects OBE

Kylie, best known for singles 'I Should Be So Lucky' and 'Spinning Around' has received an OBE on July 3rd from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

She described the experience as "surprisingly emotional." But she added that she "expected to be a little nervous, obviously very excited, but it was very emotional seeing all these people from different walks of life joining together for this event."

She was awarded this prestigious award for services to music.

Britney to join Madonna on tour

It has been reported that Madonna has asked Britney Spears to join her on her upcoming tour, in a bid to help the troubled star relauch her singing career.

They were set to join on Sunday 6th July to record a music video, which will be broadcasted during her tour on big screens, being used as the backdrop. It has even been said that Spears could have been asked to join Madonna on stage on some of the world tour dates.

A source has told newspapers that "it's hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self." The tour is set to kick off on 23rd August.

Oasis awarded Silver Clef Award

On Friday 4th July, the band won the top award at the 02 Silver Clef Awards. Noel and Liam Gallagher attented the exclusive event at London's Park Lane Hilton Hotel, where they were given the award for their contribution to the music industry.

It was presented to them by boxer Ricky Hatton, who is openly a huge fan of the band.

After receiving the award, Noel backed up his comments about Jay-Z at Glastonbury. He said Jay-Z was the "wrong" choice to headline the festival, and his comment on Friday was: "all I did was give my opinion about ticket sales at Glastonbury and that's the end of it. For the record I like Jay-Z - it's just my opinion. If people don't like it, don't ask me any more questions." Hopefully there won't be too much controversy between the pair in the future.
